Conventional seals are designed to leak small amounts of fluid across their seal faces to keep the mating surfaces lubricated. As a result any debris will eventually find its way to the seal Face and cause the seal to fail.
THE ANSWER: CIRCOFLEX® SEALS DO NOT ALLOW LEAKAGE OF ANYTHING ACROSS THE FACES. IN OTHER WORDS -A DRY FACE SEAL.
HOW CAN THE CircoFlex® SEAL RUN DRY FACES WHEN OTHERS CAN‘T?
- The materials of the mating faces provide their own dry film lubricant. They run continuously on this dry film. No additional lubrication is needed or tolerated.
- The design concept of the dry face seal provides a central element that results in a three element system rather than the conventional two element system.
- The central ˇ§Floating elementˇ¨ of the dry face seal design contains two sets of mating faces that alternately become static faces and dynamic faces.
- The springs of the dry face seal are incorporated as part of the floating element design and are not exposed to the fluid being pumped.
- We fully expect the dry face seal to out perform conventional seals by a factor of 4 to 1. We do it every day of the week, 24/7, 365, year after year.
